Our platform, Urban Strategy, supports integrated scenario analysis across mobility, environment, spatial planning, energy, and climate resilience. We are a fast-growing and ambitious team building next-generation tools that allow cities worldwide to explore policies and infrastructure decisions interactively and at scale.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Mobility Data & Simulation Specialist who combines strong analytical skills with a hands-on approach to data integration and client delivery.

In this role, you will prepare and manage data and apply and interpret transport models within our digital twin environment. You will work directly with clients to translate complex mobility systems into actionable, interactive scenarios.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond traditional transport studies and bring modelling into a real-time, interactive decision-making context.

Your Responsibilities

Transport Modelling & Analysis

  • Apply and interpret transport models (e.g. traffic assignment, OD matrices, network models) in real-world planning cases
  • Translate model outcomes into insights for scenario analysis and decision-making
  • Contribute to the integration of modelling approaches within the Urban Strategy platform

Client Onboarding & Data Integration

  • Lead data setup and integration for client projects, including GIS and mobility datasets
  • Act as the primary contact for data and modelling-related topics during onboarding
  • Collaborate with clients to understand mobility challenges and translate them into scalable solutions

Project Delivery & Quality

  • Ensure structured, traceable, and high-quality data and model workflows
  • Validate data and modelling outputs, ensuring consistency and reliability
  • Document processes, assumptions, and results for internal and client use
  • Innovation & Product Development
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, modelling approaches, and performance
  • Contribute to the evolution of digital twin capabilities, including faster and more scalable modelling approaches

Your Profile

Education & Experience

  • MSc in Transport, Civil Engineering, Spatial Planning, Data Science, or
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in transport modelling or mobility analysis
  • Experience with at least one modelling approach, such as:
  • Traffic assignment (static or dynamic)
  • Network modelling (multi-modal preferred)
  • OD matrix development or calibration

Technical Skills

  • Experience with transport modelling tools (e.g. PTV Visum/Vissim, Aimsun, OmniTRANS, TransCAD)
  • or strong Python-based modelling experience
  • GIS experience (QGIS or ArcGIS)
  • Strong affinity with data processing, scripting, and structured workflows
  • Understanding of routing/network algorithms (e.g. shortest-path methods) is a plus

Personal Skills

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and explain modelling results
  • Comfortable in a client-facing role and able to translate technical concepts
  • Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Motivated to work in a fast-moving startup environment

What we offer

  • A key role in shaping the future of digital twin technology.
