Scenexus Presents Interactive Noise Mapping Innovation at Internoise 2025 in Brazil

Daan Wöltgens, Scientific Software Developer at Scenexus, presented our latest research on interactive and integrated noise modeling at Internoise 2025, the premier international conference on noise control engineering, held this year in São Paulo, Brazil.

The presentation showcases a breakthrough in GPU-accelerated noise calculations, integrated with the Urban Strategy platform. This innovation enables real-time scenario testing and stakeholder engagement in urban planning workshops, dramatically reducing computation times for city-wide noise maps—from hours to seconds.

The work demonstrates how interactive noise modeling can support more effective and inclusive noise abatement planning, aligning with the goals of the European Noise Directive. The next step will be the implementation of the CNOSSOS-EU method to further enhance applicability across Europe.
